Mateo 16,21-27
El que quiera venirse conmigo, que se niegue a sí mismo
Lectura del santo evangelio según san Mateo:
En aquel tiempo, empezó Jesús a explicar a sus discípulos que tenía que ir a Jerusalén y padecer allí mucho por parte de los ancianos, sumos sacerdotes y escribas, y que tenía que ser ejecutado y resucitar al tercer día. Pedro se lo llevó aparte y se puso a increparlo: "¡No lo permita Dios, Señor! Eso no puede pasarte." Jesús se volvió y dijo a Pedro: "Quítate de mi vista, Satanás, que me haces tropezar; tú piensas como los hombres, no como Dios." Entonces dijo a sus discípulos: "El que quiera venirse conmigo, que se niegue a sí mismo, que cargue con su cruz y me siga. Si uno quiere salvar su vida, la perderá; pero el que la pierda por mí la encontrará. ¿De qué le sirve a un hombre ganar el mundo entero, si arruina su vida? ¿O qué podrá dar para recobrarla? Porque el Hijo del hombre vendrá entre sus ángeles, con la gloria de su Padre, y entonces pagará a cada uno según su conducta."

At that time, Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he had to go to Jerusalem and much suffering there by the elders, chief priests and scribes, and he had to be executed and resurrect the third day. Peter took him aside and turned to increpa: "Do not allow God, Lord! That can not happen." Jesus turned and said to Peter: "Get Offa My view, Satan, I do stumble, you think like men, not as God." Then he told his disciples: "Anyone who wants to come with me, who refuses to himself, that bear his cross and follow me. If one wants to save his life will lose it, but which lost for me will find it. Do Which serves a man to win the world, whether ruined his life? Or what may take to recover? For the Son of man will come between his angels, His Father's glory, and then paid to each according to his conduct. "
